The growth
in medical monitoring, diagnostics and detection of environmental contamination
has stimulated significant innovation in screen printed electrodes for use as
sensors in environmental monitoring, process control and bio-sensing
applications. Sensor production technologies, using screen
printing, offers
simple and efficient approach for producing electrodes for sensors. The most
attractive characteristic of screen printing technology is its versatility in
being able to deposit a variety of materials on a range of substrates, cost
effectively.
Our core technology consists of the design and subsequent screen printing of a range of conductive and non conductive thick film materials on a variety of substrates, such as polycarbonate or polyester, and further processing of the printed substrates to tailor-design the manufactured components to be used in specific applications. Our experience in efficient high volume manufacturing enables customer requirements to be transformed from CAD-designed 'first-principles', through into cost-effective solutions. Microarray provides the expertise for the manufacture of sensors or bio-sensors, along with a dedicated technical support team, so that our customers may obtain quantities of tailor designed sensors from small scale pilot use through to volume manufacture.
The figure opposite shows one of our production sensor designs, which even features a screen printed fusible link to ensure that once the sensor has been used, it cannot be re-used.
